I’ve always drawn and painted. At the same time, I was a college student, sailor in the US Navy, a drummer in a rock ‘n roll band
called “The Redcoats” which made a bunch of records & toured & got to work with Dick Clark, a corporate account exec (where I admittedly doodled a lot), then  partnered with my lovely wife in an

an antique shop.  And, for over 20
years, I was owner of a business “The Finishing Touch”
which was dedicated to the restoration of historic architectural woodwork.

Debbie and I  were married in 1973.  I have a grown son Jeff
and daughter Jana who both are married with sons of their own.  Jana is an artist and her work can be seen here.  Our home life is now made more exciting because of our newest family member “Cooper.”

I really got serious about painting in the early 90’s when I took courses at Rochester Memorial Art Gallery’s Creative Workshop.  I generally paint in watercolor and gouache.  The energy and immediacy of watercolor combined with the depth achieved from gouache provide a richness I can’t achieve any other way.  Over the past 15 years I’ve exhibited at numerous local and regional art shows.

When not painting, you’ll probably find me in my shop working on another passion,  building a 2 1/2 foot replica of a late 19th century New York harbor tugboat.
